The wide, straight path running through Bemowski Forest, next to the cache, is a remain of old railway track, which led to Bemowo Airfield.
Warsaw Steelworks Railway (Warszawska Magistrala Hutnicza) is an existing railway track, which begins next to the viaduct at Górczewska Street and then runs through Bemowo District, Bemowo Forest and further through Radiowo to Warsaw Steelworks. One way scrap, necessary to steelworks’ production is transported and ready steel products are transported back. In the past, several other tracks branched off this line. One of them branched until recently on the back side of allotment gardens between Leskiego Street and WAT military area, and led to the military fuel base at Radiowa street. Those track was disassembled in the second half of 2019. Another track, branching from it and leading to Bemowo Airfield was liquidated about the year 2000. Today only this wide path running through the forest is a trace of it. Also, some remains of railway crossing at Radiowa Street can be spotted and also at Sobczaka and Akantu Steets, at the intersection with Kleeberga Street, at Boernerowo housing estate even some remains of tracks are still visible.
The cache is located on a tree, near the former railway track. Just next to it you can see a culvert under the embankment of former railway track. The cache is quite high, you can reach it with some stick, there are lots of it everywhere around :)
