Ponad 20 hektarów rezerwatu przyrody otoczonych obszerną otuliną – to właśnie Skarpa Ursynowska biegnąca od ul. Arbuzowej niemal do Pałacu Krasińskich. W 1996 roku teren ten został objęty ochroną czynną i krajobrazową, aby zapobiec jego zabudowie i ochronić dziką przyrodę.
