Nie daleko Opaleńca znajdowala się dawna granica Prusko-Polska ,dzieliła ona dwie kultury dwa narody choć blisko spokrewnione ze sobą .

W celu upamiętnienia tego miejsca władze gminy postawiły tablice informacyjne i dwie budki wartownicze w barwach krajów znajdujących się po obu stronach granicy
