Description
The cache is located near the place, where 5705 days ago a motor glider Bocian M-2000 has crashed.
SZD-9 Bocian (Stork) is one of the most popular Polish gliders. It is used commonly since 1950s till today, mainly for training. Bocian M-2000 was a motor glider, basing on Bocian. Modifications were quite significant, for example in traditional Bocian the seats are situated one behind another, and here there were side by side.
The accident occured about 3 minutes after the take-off from nearby Bemowo (Babice) airfield, as a result of falling the aircraft into the spin. The pilot, although he was very experienced in planes and helicopters pilotage, he was not yet used to motorglider's specifics. As a result of mistakes during take-off and climbing, the motor glider crashed in the forest soon afterwards. The pilot and the passenger did not survive.
Today there is a small plate and cross on a tree in the place of the crash. The cache is located in the neighbourhood.
