The railway track leading to Warsaw Steelworks surround Nowe Górce district from eastern and northern side. Long freight trains, carrying mainly scrap metal to the steelworks ride here. The track is not electrified, only diesel locomotives service this line. Currently it is not possible anymore to cross this track fully legally, and for sure it it not possible to do it by car. It used to be a bit different. Even in early 2000s there were several railway crossings: on the western side of the viaduct at Powstańców Śląskich street (which was narrower but higher than today and led only above the railway track, there was no S-8 expressway at that time), at Żeńców street (it was liquidated a few years before the construction of S-8 expressway was started), at Siodlarska street and here, at Zaborowska street, it still functioned already not a long time ago. And many years earlier there was also a railway crossing at the extension of today's Grodkowska street. The main traffic to the centre of Warsaw led here, before the viaduct at Górczewska street was built about 1973.
Currently, the railway track can be crossed by pedestrians' here, but please, take a look around carefully beforehand ! Check out if the train is not coming ! They ride a bit faster now than before. It is also possible to cross the track by bike (but rather by bring it, not by ride), for sure you cannot cross it by car here. The cache is located very close to the track, but you don't need (and you really shouldn't !) stand on the track while grabing it. Also, when writing into the logbook, please keep away from the railway track !
