Obszar Powiatu Nowotomyskiego to teren kolonizacji olęderskiej. Od XVII wieku niemieccy osadnicy zajmowali te tereny. Kolonizacja trwała aż do I Wojny Światowej. Po zakończeniu wojny Olędrzy opuścili te tereny. Pozostałością po osadnikach jest stare drewniane budownictwo charakteryzujące się rozproszoną zabudową oraz cmentarze, często zapomniane, ukryte wśród lasów i pól . Każda wieś posiadała swój cmentarz, na którym chowane były kolejne pokolenia mieszkańców. Na terenie Powiatu znajdują się 93 cmentarze. Niektóre ładnie zachowane, niektóre praktycznie nieistniejące w terenie.

Nowy Tomyśl County area is the area of colonization. From the seventeenth century German settlers occupied this area. Colonization lasted until World War I. After the war Olęder left the area. The remains of the settlers isthe old wooden construction characterized by dispersed buildings and cemeteries, often forgotten, hidden in the woods and fields. Each village had its own cemetery, where the subsequent generations of inhabitants were buried. Within the county there are 93 cemeteries. Some nicely preserved, some practically non-existent in the area.

Das Gebiet des Kreises Nowy Tomyśl ist ein Gebiet der Kolonisierung durch Holländer (poln. Olędrzy). Seit dem XVII. Jahrhundert haben deutsche Siedler auf diesen Gebieten gewohnt.
Die Kolonisierung dauerte bis zum I. Weltkrieg. Nach dem Kriegsende verließen die Holländer diese Gebiete. Das Überbleibsel nach den Siedlern sind alte Holzbauten, die sehr verstreut liegen und Friedhöfe, oft in Vergessenheit geratene, die unter Wäldern und Feldern liegen. Jedes Dorf hatte seinen eigenen Friedhof, auf dem nachfolgende Generationen bestattet wurden. Auf dem Kreisgebiet befinden sich 93 Friedhöfe. Einige sind schön erhalten geblieben, andere sind praktisch nicht zu finden.
