"Soldiers' graves are the greatest preachers of peace" - Albert Schweitzer, Nobel Peace Prize winner

Here in Poland most of us knows the cemetery and the huge Infantryman Monument near E-7 national road in Uniszki Zawadzkie near Mława. It was here back in September 1939 when soldiers of the 20th Infantry Div fended off German attacks; outnumbered 1:4 they stood their ground and retreated in good order after 3 days of bitter fighting since the enemy broke through in another sector and threatened to flank them.
Very few of us knows, though, that there's another cemetery, just couple of miles away. As many as 12.479 soldiers found their last resting place there.

After the Germans had occupied Poland in 1939 three cemeteries were set up for the soldiers fallen during the September campaign. Mławka is the only one of them which still exists. Soldiers of the WW1 were already buried there (Mława changed hands 14 times during the Russo-German clash in 1914), with 1.547 more added till the end of 1945. In the nineties thousands of others were transferred from the area surrounding Mławka to find their final resting place among the trees here. Today, names of each one of them is carved on the stones placed around the cross on a clearing in the forest. There are dozens of Polish names, too...
The cemetery was opened in 1996 thanks to financing from the German War Graves Comission.

The cache itself is obviously NOT right on the cemetery. Follow a short, stone-paved road from the parking lot to the cemetary gate. There are two maple trees on the left side of the road. Turn to the left and after some 50 meters you'll see a steep, wooded slope. Go down the slope to the young birch tree forest. All you need is some 40 steps from the edge of it to a juniper bush with a small stump close to it. Dig a bit and the cache will be yours.

This cache, as well as many others from Poland, is also registered at Gpsgames.org. If you hit the cache please also consider registering your find here, too. Thank you.
