Description EN PL
The Museum has its origin in 1964 when the first aircraft exhibition was organized in Kraków. It is located on the former military airfield in Rakowice-Czyzyny, which was formed in 1912 for Austro-Hungarian air force. After the WW I it became the first airfield in independent Poland. In 1920s the airfield was extended and grew to the position of the second largest airfield in Poland. It was bombed in September 1939 and then utilized by German Luftwaffe during the WW II. The airfield was taken over by Russians and then handed over to the Polish government in 1945.

The Museum collections are exhibited on the outdoor exhibition as well as in hangars. Apart from aircrafts, helicopters and gliders there is a rich collection of aircraft engines (really worth visiting).

The Museum organizes yearly Air Show which takes place in June.

The website of the Museum offers a virtual tour.
